Bholaa is a 2024 Indian Hindi action adventure film directed by Ajay Devgn and produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Reliance Entertainment, T-Series Films and Dream Warrior Pictures. It is a remake of the 2019 Tamil film “Kaithi” and features Devgn in the lead role, joined by Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Gajraj Rao, and Vineet Kumar. The film was mainly shot in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Varanasi from January 2022 to January 2024. Ravi Basrur composed the film’s score and soundtrack while Aseem Bajaj handled the cinematography and Dharmendra Sharma did the editing.
Released on March 30, 2024, Bholaa garnered mixed reviews from critics and performed moderately at the box office. However, it managed to collect ₹111.64 crore (US$14 million) worldwide as of 4 May 2024, making it the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.
Bholaa Movie Story :
In the gripping action-packed story, SP Diana Joseph successfully apprehends the notorious Sikka Gang, seizing a staggering haul of cocaine worth 1,000 crores. Undercover officer Abbas Ali, known as Raunak, infiltrates the gang and provides crucial information about one of its leaders, Ashwathama, to Diana. Meanwhile, Ashu seeks the assistance of corrupt NCB officer Devraj Subramaniam, who instructs another corrupt officer, Deep Singh, to spike the drinks at a farewell party for IG Jayant Malik, causing all the police officers, except Diana, to fall unconscious.
Determined to save the sedated officers, Diana convinces recently released prisoner Bholaa to drive a truck transporting them to the hospital and later to Laalganj police station. Along the way, they face relentless attacks from various gangs, but Bholaa, revealing his formidable fighting skills, eliminates all threats. In a parallel development, Ashu hires a bounty hunter to target Diana and her police force.
Simultaneously, Ashu launches an assault on the police station, aiming to free his brother Nithari, who was apprehended with the seized cocaine. Inspector Angad Yadav, assigned to defend the station, teams up with a group of students to barricade the premises. Though Ashu’s gang attempts to deceive Joseph into releasing the prisoners, she realizes it’s a trap orchestrated by Nithari. Ashu manages to breach the station, but Yadav and the students overpower him. A student named Chetan tragically falls victim to Ashu’s gang, which enrages Yadav, leading to Ashu’s demise.
Joseph urgently contacts medics and arranges for an ambulance at a nearby temple. While awaiting its arrival, Bholaa shares his poignant backstory with Kadchi, revealing his transformation from a notorious gangster to a man seeking justice for his murdered lover, Swara. Eventually, an ambulance arrives, but Bholaa is stabbed by Deep Singh, causing severe injuries. Meanwhile, Abbas, exposed as the mole, meets his demise. Despite his injuries, Bholaa single-handedly annihilates Ashu’s gang, aided by the divine Trident of Lord Shiva. He pursues Bhoora, Ashu’s henchman, ultimately rescuing Joseph.
Together with Kadchi and Diana, Bholaa reaches Laalganj police station through a secret passage, ensuring the safe escape of the students and Yadav. Joseph destroys the confiscated cocaine, symbolizing her commitment to justice. As Ashu’s reinforced gang finally breaches the station, Bholaa obliterates them with a powerful M134 Minigun. Later, Nithari succumbs to shock upon learning about Bholaa’s involvement, and Devraj Subramaniam takes his own life upon discovering Bholaa’s true identity. Bholaa joyfully reunites with his daughter Jyoti, and they embark on a blissful journey together, accompanied by Kadchi and a puppy. In a mid-credits scene, Chomu Singh, a rival gang leader, becomes aware of Bholaa’s release and vows to destroy him.
