Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, also known as Salaar or Salaar: The Saga, is an upcoming Telugu-language action thriller film from India. Written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the film features Prabhas in the lead role as Salaar. The cast also includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju. Principal photography began in January 2021 near Godavarikhani, Telangana, following the film’s announcement in December 2020. Ravi Basrur is responsible for music while Bhuvan Gowda is handling cinematography. The highly anticipated film will hit theaters around the world on September 28, 2024.
Salaar Production :
Salaar is an upcoming action thriller film directed by Prashanth Neel and stars Prabhas in the lead role. The film was announced on 2 December 2020 and is Neel’s first Telugu venture. It is not a remake but an original story written for Prabhas. The music is composed by Ravi Basrur and Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer.
The cast includes Shruti Haasan who plays a lead role and Madhu Guruswamy in a pivotal role. Easwari Rao was signed on to play Salaar’s mother and Jagapathi Babu joined as Rajamanaar. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is returning to Telugu cinema after 12 years, is also a part of the film. Sriya Reddy has a key role.
Filming began on January 29, 2021 at the Telangana coal mines. The first program was completed in February 2021 and the second program was held in Hyderabad. By March 2022, around 30% of filming was completed. Filming has been temporarily halted due to the releases of Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam and Neel’s K.G.F: Chapter 2. It resumed in June 2022 after Prabhas recovered from a broken knee. The crew filmed a 20-minute long action sequence at sea, spending Rs 10 million on the scene.
Salaar reportedly used Dark Centric Theme Technology (DCT) for its unique visual style, making it the first Indian film to do so. The lighting pattern and color palette of the film will be darker in tone.
